They Will Never Be Forgotten ![]() Spiderman? Wonderwoman? Scooby Doo? GI Joe? As children we all had our hero's. The, usually mythical, people we all wanted to grow up and be like. They were our heroes. When you ask a Marine what made them want to be a Marine it is usually because of a hero they had as they grew old. The grandfather who fought in W.W.II. The father who told stories of Vietnam and Korea. Or the story of a young private who struggled his way through the corps to be one of the greatest snipers of all time. Heroes are an important key to who we are and who we grow up to be. Here you can learn a little bit about MCFN's personal heroes and visit our bulletin board and share a little about your person heroes. Who influenced you to be the Marine you (or your Marine) are today? From Chesty Puller to your big brother who was a Marine you will find a place to write them a dedication and tell us why they are your hero!
The ways that we were affected by our heroes are as varied as the people they influenced. We are Marines, police officers, wives, mothers, Canadians, Americans...the list can go on and on. They affected us through their words and actions, through books written about them, and through hearing others tell of them. We want the most important part of this webpage to be your words telling people how they influenced or affected you. We feel this is the best way to continue their legacies. Books can only tell you so much but these stories will be real people's experiences with wonderful people! Our Tribute to Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock A Marine that we consider a true American Hero "Neither the United States Marine Corps nor any other component of the Department of Defense has approved, endorsed, or authorized this product/service/activity."
