The average military family today will move roughly 4 times more than the average civilian family. Eventually you will get used to packing up your things just to unpack them again a few miles or several thousand miles later. Leaving the friends you've made, your church and your children's schools never gets easier. That is why MCFN has created Hand to Hand. While Hand to Hand started as a small project for one section of MCFN is has grown as we have seen the need for it. Hand to Hand is people all over the country coming forward and saying can we help make your transition a little easier. Whether you are moving to a new base, off to recruiting duty, or becoming a civilian again these people are there to help you in any way they can. Do you need a copy of local papers to find an apt? Do you want to know how the local schools are or where there is a good church? Simply locate a Hand to Hand member near the location your moving to and email them. They will be more than happy to help you find the information you need from phone numbers to newspaper listings.

How does Hand to Hand work?
It is actually very easy to use the Hand to Hand network. The giant map below is actually a site map. Simply go to the map and click on the state that you are moving to. You will be sent then to the listings for that state. Isn't that easy! If someone is in your state but not your town don't let that stop you from emailing them. They may still have the answers to your questions or be able to recommend something. You never know unless you ask! Simply email the person listed under it putting Hand To Hand as your subject so that they will know the nature of your email and not mistakenly overlook it or delete it! Just go ahead and ask them your questions, they are all ready and willing to help in anyway they can.

Please remember to use proper internet safety including:
1. do not give out to much personal information until you know the person or have verified the person through other outlets (ex. full name or address)

2. do not meet person in person alone or in a private place. If you feel safe to meet them please meet in a public place and have someone come with you.

This boils down to use common sense and be safe and this page can be a valuable resource!
